First day of the scrum-diet… ever?

This is the first day of a new diet we are trying utilizing the Scrum software development methodology.  In this implementation of Scrum, the team is voluntary, and each member sets their own goals.  We will meet each day for our daily stand-up (some by phone if possible).  The first day we each talk about our goal and how we plan to achieve our goal.  Each day going forward we will each talk about the following:

  • What did you do yesterday to make progress towards your goal?
  • What are you going to do today to make progress towards your goal?
  • What is your progress sprint-to-date?

This first sprint is for 19 days, and will end on Friday, May 15th.

We had 15 out of 17 participants show up for our first scrum for our first sprint!  We had lots of very aggressive goals, including one 25 lbs goal, two 20 lb’ers, 3 beer abstainers, and 2 smokers quitting.  Good luck with that!

God help us.  192 lbs for our goal…
